Tips
Keep your carpets in their tip-top condition. Useful tips below for everyone.
Carpet Cleaning & Upholstery Stain Removal
Say goodbye to bad odors
If your home smells bad even though you keep the windows open, you should consider checking the carpets and the sofa. Bad odors are the sum of stains, possible mold, pet dirt and the concentration of germs. Carpet cleaning requires more than vacuuming. You will need to apply soda on the carpets and do sofa cleaning using vinegar for better odor removal results.
Taking care of the rugs
It's good to know that wool rugs need less vacuuming than other rugs, especially flokati rugs with long fibers. They need special treatment when it comes to rug cleaning and although flokati rugs are small, you must never put them in the laundry. They will shrink. Use minimum water for stain removal and always clean them and do mildew inspection on both sides.
Seasonal carpet cleaning is a good practice
Seasonal cleaning means choosing the opportune time to have your carpets scrubbed. Mites and bugs often choose spring time to breed which means they will be active in your carpet during this season. This means that spring is the best time to conduct carpet cleaning if you want to deal with the level of allergens in your home.
Check the furniture and carpet as well as the walls for mold
Mold grows in warm and humid areas. If there is even a little bit of moisture on the floor due to condensation or for any other reason, it will be quickly absorbed by the carpet and the floor treatment will become a breeding ground for the fungus. Similarly, mold can grow on the warm and moist surfaces of wood furniture and on upholstery as well.
Kitchen carpeting choice
The kitchen is generally not a good place for wall to wall carpeting for a couple of reasons. First, the area is very prone to spills of all sorts. If you have a carpet in the kitchen, you'll probably end up with several food stains every week. Safety is the second reason. Your feet could easily get caught in a snag and you could fall over while carrying a bowl of hot soup, or worse, a knife. Either way, things could get messy.
